What Are SERPS?
When an individual enters a search phrase into a search engine such as Google the results that are displayed are known as SERPS. For example, if a user enters "low cost it support" in Google the first page the individual will see shows the 10 websites Google deems to be the most relevent to that search phrase. If you enter this search you will see that Surrey PC Support appears in position 2 out of 67,700,000 results (as at 12th August 2010) meaning that Google ranks our website as the second most important site for "low cost it support". Generally speaking, the higher a website appears in SERPs the more internet users will visit the site. This is why SEO is so important for any website.
How Does Our Results Based SEO Service Work?
You simply tell us the search phrases (keywords) you would like your website to appear for. We can advise you on the best search phrases (based on search volumes and level of competition) if you are unsure which keywords/phrases are best for you. We then check to see what position your site currently appears. For example if you are a recruitment company you might appear in position 4 on page 2 for the search term "recruitment consultants". This means you are in position 14 because there are 10 results per page. You can choose as many search phrases as you like.
For each search phrase, we agree a fee for every position in SERPS you gain through our SEO service within a specified timescale. Taking the recruitment company example we may agree a fee of £5 for every position gained within 3 months. So after three months if the position has moved from position 14 to position 4, the fee will be £50. If after three months the website still appears in positions 14 then there is no fee to pay. This approach to SEO means if we don't get results then you don't pay a penny.
The fees vary depending on the competitiveness of the search phrase and the position. The reason for this is that it is far easier to gain positions if a website appears on page 10 than it is if that website appears on page 1.
